The All-in-One Travel Digital Form – What Every Traveller Must Know
All travellers must complete the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form before arriving in Mauritius. This is a mandatory requirement and applies to every visitor regardless of nationality, length of stay, or purpose of visit.
The form is issued by the Government of Mauritius and covers your health declaration, customs information, and immigration details — all in one place. It replaces the paper arrival card that used to be handed out on the plane.
- Who must complete it – Every traveller arriving in Mauritius, including children, must submit a completed form before arrival
- When to complete it – You can fill in the form up to 30 days before your arrival date. It is strongly recommended to complete it at least 24 hours before you fly
- How to access it – The form is available online at safemauritius.govmu.org
- What you will need – Your passport details, flight information, accommodation details, and basic health information
- What you receive – Once submitted, you will receive a QR code by email. You must present this QR code to immigration officers on arrival
The form is free to complete. Be cautious of third-party websites that charge a fee to submit it on your behalf. Always use the official government portal linked above.
Pro Tip: Complete the form for every member of your travelling party, including children. Each traveller requires their own individual submission and QR code.
Do You Need a Visa to Visit Mauritius?
For most holiday visitors, the answer is no. According to the official Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office, citizens of over 100 countries do not require a visa to enter Mauritius. When you land at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the immigration officer will review your documents and stamp your passport.
The following nationalities are confirmed as no visa required by the official government country list:
- United Kingdom – No visa required
- France – No visa required
- Germany – No visa required
- All EU member states – No visa required (holders of EU passports are exempt as a bloc under Mauritius immigration regulations)
- Australia – No visa required
- United States of America – No visa required
- Canada – No visa required
- India – No visa required
- South Africa – No visa required
- China – No visa required
For all visa-free nationalities, the permitted length of stay is determined by the immigration officer on arrival. The tourist permit maximum is up to six months in a calendar year, granted on a case-by-case basis subject to immigration requirements. The actual duration stamped in your passport will depend on the purpose of your visit, your documents, and the officer's assessment.
If your country is not on the visa-free list, you will need to apply for a tourist visa through the nearest Mauritius Embassy or High Commission before you travel. Always verify your status with the official Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office before booking flights, as requirements can change.
Pro Tip: Even with visa-free eligibility, immigration officers can refuse entry if your documents are incomplete. Always travel with printed copies of your hotel booking, return flight, and your Safe Mauritius QR code.
How Long Can You Stay in Mauritius as a Tourist?
The official maximum a tourist permit can be granted for is up to six months in a calendar year, subject to immigration requirements.
If you wish to stay longer than initially granted, you can apply for an extension at the Passport and Immigration Office in Port Louis before your current permit expires.
Pro Tip: Check the stamp in your passport carefully as you leave immigration. It will show your permitted departure date. Note it down and set a reminder well in advance if you plan to stay a while.
What Documents Do You Need at the Airport?
Arriving prepared makes the immigration process quick and easy. Have the following ready when you reach the desk:
- Your Safe Mauritius QR code – Received by email after completing the All-in-One Travel Digital Form at safemauritius.govmu.org
- A valid passport with at least six months of validity beyond your departure date and at least two blank pages for stamps
- A return or onward flight ticket confirming you will leave Mauritius within your permitted stay
- Proof of accommodation – a confirmed hotel booking, Airbnb reservation, or letter from your host
- Proof of sufficient funds – a recent bank statement or credit card
You no longer need to fill in a paper arrival card on the plane. The All-in-One Digital Form replaces it entirely.
Pro Tip: Screenshot or download your QR code before you fly so you can access it without an internet connection on arrival.
How to Complete the Safe Mauritius All-in-One Form
