Real Nature, Real Adventure, Truly Mauritius
Our Mission

Real Nature, Real Adventure, Truly Mauritius

We are a dedicated tour company offering premium, nature-focused adventures across Mauritius. What began as two people exploring hidden waterfalls, wild forests, and coastal trails has grown into one of the island’s most trusted adventure operators. From the start, our goal was simple: to give travellers a real and authentic way to experience Mauritius’ untouched beauty.

We clean the trails we explore, engage the local community, and prioritize eco-friendly practices. With certified guides trained in first-aid, and the lowest guide-to-client ratios in Mauritius, every experience is designed to be safe and truly remarkable.

At Mauritius Tours, you don’t just visit the island.
You experience the real Mauritius.

Frequently asked questions

Most frequent questions and answers

We often publish our prices 6 months in advance. Between that time and the time of your tour’s departure, we may be faced with cost increases (e.g. foreign currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, increases in cost of services). In the event of a change in costs, we reserve the right to apply a surcharge. If you pay in full at the time of booking, you are exempt from any such surcharges and your price will be locked in.
We are occasionally required to cancel a tour at any time prior to departure for reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to natural events. If your tour is cancelled, you are welcome to transfer to an alternate date or tour, or opt for a full refund.
Yes — we offer both private tours and very small group experiences so you can choose what suits you best. Private Tours: Perfect for couples, families, or friends who want a fully personalized adventure. You’ll have a dedicated guide, a pace tailored to you, and flexibility to focus on what interests you most. Great for honeymooners or those seeking a quiet, exclusive experience. Small Group Tours: Ideal for solo travelers or those who enjoy meeting like-minded adventurers. Our groups are intentionally small — maximum 6 travelers per guide for hiking — so you’ll still get a personal touch without feeling rushed or lost in a crowd. Both options include the same safety standards, professional guides, and attention to detail that make our tours special.

At the Airport: Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU), has currency exchange counters. ATMs: ATMs are widely available throughout Mauritius and accept major international credit and debit cards. They can be a convenient way to withdraw local currency, but be mindful of transaction fees and exchange rates. Currency Exchange Offices: Specialized currency exchange services are available in tourist areas and major cities like Port Louis, Flic en Flac, and Grand Baie. They often offer competitive rates, but check if they charge any service fees.
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and many shops. Ensure your card provider is notified of your travel plans to avoid any issues with transactions. However, if you visit local service providers for activities or want to purchase from street vendors, you will need to pay in cash.
The best time to visit Mauritius is from June to October, when temperatures sit around 24°C and conditions are at their driest. The cyclone season typically runs from December to March. While most cyclones pass out at sea, some do reach the island, bringing heavy rain and strong winds—so it’s best to avoid these months.
